Sizes?

Q. My child is 14 years old what size does he need.

A. At any age children vary in size significantly, the best way to determine your child’s size is to measure them with a tailors tape.

Here is a short Video Guide on how to measure your child for school uniform.

Sizes?

Q. Why don't you have my child's shirt in stock? He starts school on Monday!

A. This is a typical question normally asked at the tail end of the summer holiday’s a day or two before the start of the new school year.
I would like to try to answer this question by demonstrating the needs of an average primary school with 200 pupils.
How do we decide on stock quantities to guarantee that every parent/guardian has what they regard as the essential requirements for their child, a figure that can differ dramatically from one parent/guardian to another?
The average purchase for a school sweater is 2/child, so let’s say 3/child just to make sure that every parent/guardian’s order is more than likely fulfilled for the start of term, but still not guaranteed.
That’s only 600 garments!
Hang on! There are a minimum of six sizes excluding those that may need a small, medium, or large adult sizes.
So now we are up to around 3,600 pieces.
We then have options.
Some schools want us to provide a choice of cardigans, V- neck sweaters, round neck sweaters, hoodies, polo shirts, t-shirts and more.
We are now up to 3,600 multiplied by 6 variants that tots up to 21,600 pieces for one average sized primary school and this figure doesn’t include sportswear, bags, jackets hats, ties etc and when we move on to the secondary schools these quantities can easily quadruple.
So please accept our apologies if you have been one of the unlucky ones but please understand that to carry such volumes of stock is both a logistic and economic impossibility and therefore all stock levels are based on averages calculated from nearly 30 years of experience, by no means perfect but better than most.
Our manufacturers and wholesalers have an even greater problem with stock levels during peak periods which is why it is particularly difficult to replenish your requirements quickly during these demanding times.
From a very small proportion of parent/guardian’s that are unfortunate enough to leave empty handed during these challenging periods there is always an extreme minority that like to show their dismay by insulting our shop staff, writing defamatory and grossly exaggerated emails to those in authority and posting similar comments on their preferred social media platform, so for those I would like you to consider the contents of this answer and reconsider your actions next time.
